Terms and Conditions of Carriage and Service

Same Day Courier Delivery Service
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by Same Day Courier Delivery Service (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Carrier”). By requesting, booking, or using our services, the Customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- “Consignment” / “Goods”: any item(s), package, parcel, document, pallet accepted by us for carriage.
- “Customer”: person/company booking or using services, whether sender or recipient.
- “Services”: same day/express courier, urgent delivery, 24/7, nationwide UK, dedicated vehicle, multi-drop, tracking, etc.
2. Services Provided We offer:
- Same-day / express / urgent deliveries within Leicester and nationwide UK
- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including bank holidays
- 1-hour collection in Leicester area (subject to vehicle/driver availability)
- Dedicated (sole-use) vehicles on request
- Handling of documents, sensitive/medical items (non-hazardous), business-critical parcels
- Real-time GPS tracking (where available)
- Fully insured carriage (subject to limits below)
Times are estimates only unless expressly agreed in writing as guaranteed.
3. Your Obligations 3.1 Provide accurate, complete information (addresses, contact numbers, access instructions, Goods description). 3.2 Package Goods securely, suitably for transit (strong boxes, padding, waterproofing if needed). 3.3 Declare correct value if >£100 and request extra insurance. 3.4 Ensure Goods are not prohibited (see clause 4). 3.5 Be available (or arrange access) at pickup/delivery times. 3.6 Indemnify us against claims/losses from inaccurate info or your breach.
4. Prohibited and Restricted Items Prohibited (never accepted):
- Illegal substances, weapons, explosives, firearms/ammunition
- Live animals
Restricted (may require approval/extra charge): fragile items, liquids, batteries, medical samples, high-value goods. We may refuse/return at your cost.
5. Charges, Payment & Invoicing 5.1 Prices based on distance, weight/volumetric size, urgency, vehicle type, time of day. Quotes valid for stated time only. 5.2 Payment: cash/card on collection/delivery, or invoice (approved business accounts – 14/30 days), bank transfer. 5.3 Late payment: interest at 8% above Bank of England base rate + £40 statutory fee. 5.4 Additional charges: waiting time (>15 min), redelivery, incorrect address, fuel surcharges (if applicable).
6. Our Liability & Insurance 6.1 Maximum liability for loss, damage, delay: £100 per Consignment unless higher value declared and extra premium paid. 6.2 No liability for: indirect/consequential loss (profit, revenue, contracts, goodwill), special/delay damages unless agreed. 6.3 Standard coverage up to £50000 GIT and up to £1000000 Public Liability. Proof of delivery (signature/POD/photo) discharges us unless visible damage noted at time. 6.4 All Consignments insured to basic limit; extra cover available on request (premium varies by value/risk). 6.5 Claims must be submitted in writing with evidence within:
- Visible damage: at delivery
- Non-delivery/loss: 7 days of expected delivery
- Concealed damage: 7 days of delivery
7. Force Majeure & Delays We are not liable for failure/delay due to events beyond reasonable control: weather, traffic, accidents, strikes, customs, border delays, vehicle breakdown, instructions from authorities, pandemics, etc. We will use reasonable endeavours to minimise impact.
8. Termination & Cancellation We may refuse/cancel services if: prohibited items, unsafe conditions, non-payment, breach of Terms. Cancellation fees may apply (e.g., after driver dispatched).
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction English law applies. Exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
10. General 10.1 Entire agreement – these Terms supersede prior agreements. 10.2 Severability – invalid clause does not affect others. 10.3 Assignment – we may subcontract; you may not assign without consent. 10.4 Updates – we may amend Terms; continued use = acceptance. Check Website regularly.
